- Kam Dhillon has gone out and measured every school gravel field in Vancouver and we acquired enough fields so that we can play until the end of the season.

February 21, 1983 Club Presidents’ Meeting

- This meeting was held because BC wanted to raise the affiliation fee by $5.00 due to poor Prov. Cup Ticket sales. When asked “What advantage it is for a Community team to be affiliated?” George Graveson, from BCYSA, answered that they received the benefits of: the Whistle, Sun Tournament ticket availability, McDonald registration cards for free drinks, BC/Wash. Exchange, Whitecaps seasons tickets and the Dairyland Jamboree. He stressed that non-affiliated teams cannot play against affiliated teams. If VYSA chose to not affiliate their Community teams then BC would have to look seriously whether VYSA was interested in remaining in BCYSA.
- Motion to remain with BCYSA. Vancouver registered 2500 divisional players.
- Motion that the Whistle be sent out on a subscription basis only. Request denied by BCYSA.

- That no sponsors’ names be part of the team name or strip but can be recognized on auxiliary equipment such as sweat suits, jackets or bags. Sponsorship or patronage must be accepted by the Board.

- Dave Kilbey leaving due to moving and Kam Dhillon resigning. Kam was the person responsible for the 3-tier system, 17 games per season due to his measuring all-weather fields and approaching school board.
- Motion that VYSA be incorporated as a society with the proposed constitution and bylaws and that there will be an election of 7 members each year for a two-year term.

- Motion that each person be entitled only to one vote.

- Ron Rothwell reports that Parks Board is calling for a tender on an artificial turf field at Strathcona.
- Select teams in div.1-5. Ron Rothwell is also Chairman of the 8-District Inter-lock League (resigned Mar.’86). He will do the computer scheduling. Due to numbers of teams (players) drastically falling, Ron Rothwell is empowered to approach Burnaby and North Shore for a 3-District Inter-lock.
- Change meeting night to the 3rd Monday of each month.
- Motion to accept new computer schedule program.
- The Strathcona & Chinese Community Centers to put in a soccer program; they have 5 teams of 8-12 yr. olds. VYSA donates considerable money in support of this, short-lived, program (see June 16’86 minutes.)
